UAF COURSE FAQ

With a growing emphasis on Model Based Systems Engineering and enterprise architecture, knowledge of the Unified Architecture Framework (UAF) is quickly becoming one of the most effective tools a systems engineer can have at their disposal. Constructed and taught by Matthew Hause, one of the original architects of UAF, this course offers a unique insight into the design, purpose, and use of UAF and the construction of UAF models. Over nine sessions of four hours each, complemented by weekly office hours, this course will walk through UAF, its viewpoints, and its diagrams. Students will be guided via in-class exercises and individualized feedback on homework.  Attendees will construct a UAF model which represents a simulated enterprise transformation project designed to explore the full range of UAF features.

SSI delivers training, consulting, and support services to enable precise and efficient authoring of architecture models in the Unified Architecture Framework (UAF) and DoD Architecture Framework (DoDAF) using Dassault's Magic Draw tool. Training consists of instruction, exercises, and support to familiarize attendees with UAF, DoDAF, and SysML model and view generation. Training will include using UAF and SysML profiles in Magic Draw to produce UAF and DoDAF diagrams. Training will start with a discussion of student needs, knowledge, and projects to help set the context and points of emphasis for the training.  To request a UAF corporate training proposal, please fill out the "Join our Network" form with your specific request and needs using the request button below.

In addition to the private courses for organizations, an open enrollment/public course option is available. The purpose of the public course is for companies who do not have a sufficient number of interested employees to justify a private course. The public training courses will be made available based on demand. The course will be presented via a web conferencing application with breakout room capability. Students should have at least a basic knowledge of SysML and the ability to create fundamental diagrams.  Students may be placed in a group with peers from their company or other organizations.  If you are interested in a public offering, please fill out the "Join our Network" form expressing your interest using the sign-up button below.
